Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of worship music as a medium of Christian education in fostering the spiritual growth of the congregation at JKI El-Shadday Pohgajih. Worship music functions not only as a liturgical element but also as a pedagogical medium that conveys theological teachings through song lyrics and shapes the spiritual experience of the congregation. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that worship music plays a significant role in increasing congregational engagement, deepening spiritual experience, and facilitating the internalization of faith. Furthermore, music serves as an effective educational tool in shaping theological understanding through lyrical repetition and musical experience. However, several challenges were identified, including the tendency to reduce music to mere entertainment, generational differences in musical preferences, and limited attention to theological depth in song selection. Therefore, churches need to manage worship music wisely by integrating theological, pedagogical, and pastoral considerations. This study implies that worship music can serve as a strategic medium in Christian education to foster holistic spiritual growth among congregants.
